A Parting Shot for tonight

You can read the article yourself right here but there is some damned fool talk about an Actor's strike.

What's going on with these morons in Hollywood?

Don't they realize that the Writer's Strike (as noble and righteous as it was) hurt the entertainment industry as a whole?

Don't they realize that the average citizen is more concerned with rising gas prices and the economy rather than how much high paid actors in Hollywood want to get more.

I don't want to minimize the fact that there are many actors and actresses who make less than i do and they need to get their piece of the pie; however, now is NOT the time.

More shows will be cancelled. I mean, fer Christ's sake, Back To You was cancelled.

Where will we be if The Sarah Connor Chronicles is cancelled as well?

Not that I care overall. I have a huge DVD collection, Bill O'Reilly is on every night and I like to read books.

I always thought that Alan Rosenberg was a weak link on L.A. Law.

Let's hope he can keep both sides at the bargaining table.

I hope I wake up tomorrow and find out there is no strike.

Goodnight all!!!!

Of Course

It's 9pm and the Mets are losing 7 - 1.

Sheesh.

AIG Update June 30, 2008

Down $1.29 today to $26.46.

Evil Company in its death throes.

American International Group - An American International Fairy Tale

I used to work at this piece of shit Company.

It was a great Company when this man ran it.

Then this asshole

forced the old guy out and the Company put this helmet head in

The biggest thing this jerkoff did was pay $50,000,000 to Manchester United, the soccer team - like who the fuck watches soccer?????? - before he told the world that AIG was going to have to take a $13.5 billion hit on the subprime debacle.

Then this asshole

got caught with a hooker and became this guy

and this guy

started criticizing this guy

and the Board got rid of him and put in a guy so unknown that there is no picture of him on the internet.

The happy ending: I sold my stock between $69 per share and $78 per share.

Now it trades at $27.75 and will go lower.

RIP George 1937- 2008

My first exposure to George Carlin was at my friend Andy's house. he got this new album entitled "Class Clown" and it was known for the "Seven Dirty Words You Can't Say On Television".

Shit. Piss. Fuck. Cunt. Cocksucker. Motherfucker. and Tits.
We might as well get them out of the way.
Carlin's use of language was beyond reproach and as I listened to the 7 words i was amazed at how effectively he used language. My personal favorite use of language was the following:

"Here's one they just made up: "near miss". When two planes almost collide, they call it a near miss. It's a near hit. A collision is a near miss."

But it wasn't Carlin's use of language that grabbed me when I first listened to Class Clown. it was the sheer insanity of the title track.
Describing the insanity of growing up in the constrictions of the classroom when wanting to just not be there, I felt Carlin was talking directly to me.

The musical instruments (nose, throat, the artificial fart under the arm), the reason for doing all of these things (to make the girls puke), the holy of holies (getting someone to pass a liquid through their nose) - all of these things I had either done or strived to do.

From that moment on, George and I were inseparable.
Any new album was purchased and memorized. Books were purchased and voraciously consumed. He was my friend. I could quote passages of his books or his records verbatim.
While I knew of his ill-health, I was unprepared to hear of his untimely death last week. I am still processing the loss.
One thing is for sure - I had his web address in my Outlook contacts.
It's going to be a hell of a lot longer than 6 weeks before I take that listing out.
If you don't know what I mean then (to channel a little George) go fucking find out!!!!
we miss you george.
Rest In Peace.
