So Julia Child was a Spy???

To me, this is one of those great news stories that would not be believable if I had not read many years ago that Hedy (that's Hedley!) LaMarr invented a Secret Communication System called a Frequency-hopped spread spectrum invention that was given a patent in 1941. Although it was not used until 1962 during the Bay of Pigs, but only after the patent had expired (damned US Government!!!!!)

The point is anything is possible.

Back to Julia Child. One can only think that "Oh, I've cut my finger" was a secret communication line that caused twelve Nazis to be executed. One can only hope.

Anyway, many of us who read spy fiction have heard of the Office of Strategic Services, or OSS. what many of us did not know wa the number of high profile people involved in the organization.

Besides the Franch Chef, we have Sterling Hayden, Arthur Goldberg, Miles Copelands( the father of the Police's Stewart Copeland), Thomas "Eight is freaking Enouhg already" Braden, as well as Kermit Roosevelt (son of Teddy) and Moe Berg.
